Helpful Tips for Using the Business Shopping Environment
Site Access
Sometimes, business spam filters will block our system from sending you your user id and password. If you have not received it, please ask your sales representative for assistance.
When signing onto the site, remember that user id and passwords are case sensitive. Most of the time it is 2 letters followed by 4 numbers. If you are using a MAC, do not use the enter key. Instead, click the “GO” button.
Using the site
Since our system provides access to contract pricing programs, loading time for item lists can take more time because of the algorithms necessary to get that price.
The fastest page to search from is the search page unless you know product codes in which case, use rapid shop.
The Browse page is time consuming, but can help with viewing large assortments like a marker selection. By just clicking on the folder for AD markers for example, you will get every color available.
When searching, work between more and less info. More info narrows the search, less info broadens the search. Keep in mind that how you spell a word will have impact. For example; TRACE, TRACING and TRAC will bring different results. The same holds for using product codes. You can enter a partial code provided you start from the beginning. If you do, you will get all items that start that way, i.e. AIFBB will get all sizes of Black on Black board.
When entering codes from the Office catalog, eliminate all dashes.
Developing a personal catalog will save you a lot of time. Note, if you use your login to enter the site and create a personal catalog, only that login will see the catalog. If you wish to create a personal catalog that all users with different logins can see, your sales rep must do that for you by entering via their login.
When developing personal catalogs, you can create as many folders or “catalogs” as you wish. We recommend that you not put more then 25 items into a single folder as it will force you to view multiple pages to find an item. Better to create multiple catalogs and name them by the items contained. For example, create a catalog for “Printer Supplies” and place only your ink and media in that one and create a separate catalog for “Boards” and place all your foam and mat board items in that one.
There is a step-by-step guide to creating a personal catalog on the site. You can access the personal catalog creation area from the main menu, however, to shop from the catalog, you must enter via the navigation bar viewed after clicking “Shop New Order” from the main menu.
Security
To speed your order though our system, do not touch any part of the ship to address except the attention to line. Touching any other line will force the system to hold the order and wait for us to check it out.
